Scott Claus, an animator with more than 20 years in the business, will discuss in the Pierce College Great Hall, 4 p.m. on May 27, his career path, as well as his day-to-day work on blockbuster films for Disney and DreamWorks.
Claus served as an animation supervisor on the film “Life Of Pi” and worked in the animation department for more than two-dozen movies, including “X-Men: First Class,” “The Cabin in the Woods” and “The Incredible Hulk.”
He teaches CG animation at Platt College in Alhambra and he teaches on-line with CG Spectrum, a Vancouver-based animation school. He has published books of cartoons, three novels, a short film that screened in Naples, Italy, and two musicals that have played at theaters in Hollywood.
Claus’ visit is part of the Pierce College Media Arts Department Speaker Series, which hosts campus talks with profesionals in the fields of multimedia, cinema, animation, journalism, photography, broadcasting and public relations.
All students, faculty, staff and visitors are welcome to the free event. Snacks will be served.
