Photography submitted by Pierce College Media Arts students will be displayed in the 35th annual Photo Salon exhibit from Feb. 21 through March 23 in the Art Gallery on campus.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to the opening ceremony Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The photographs chosen for the exhibit are hand-picked by faculty members from the photo department. Participating classes include photojournalism, digital imaging and beginning and advanced photography.
The exhibition is funded by the ASO and is a joint effort between the Art and Media Arts Department.
All photographs will be judged by professional photographers and Pierce alumni. The categories considered are photojournalism, landscape, portrait, creative and best in show. The winners will be announced at the awards reception March 7 at 7 p.m. and receive cash prizes provided by the ASO.
The Counseling Department will be donating refreshments for the event in honor of the Media Arts being recognized as Department of the Month in March.
The Pierce College Art Gallery is located in Art Department Room 3301 and is currently open 2 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The closest parking is available in Lot 6.
