Two radio anchors from KNX 1070 AM, the Los Angeles area’s only 24/7 news station, will be in the Great Hall at noon Tuesday, March 22 to talk to students, faculty, staff and the community about their careers and how they got started at Pierce College.
Randy Kerdoon (sports) and Tommy Jaxson (traffic) were students at Pierce College in the 1970s and worked together for the college’s student-run KPCR radio station. Jaxson said he “had a ball” working for KPCR and that working for the radio station was “the best thing we could have ever done.”
Kerdoon has been honored with 10 Golden Mike’s including Best Sports Reporting. Jaxson has also worked for KFI, KOST and KBIG.
The speaking engagement is part of the Media Arts Department’s semester-long Speaker Series, which is funded by the ASO.
Refreshments will be served. Parking is available for $2 in Lot 1, near the Sheriff’s Station off Brahma Drive and Winnetka Avenue.
