“Urban Sight” is an exhibition featuring photographs by students from the Department of Art and Architecture and Media Arts Department at Pierce College. The exhibition opens Thursday November 14 and runs through Wednesday December 11. The opening reception will be on Thursday November 14 from 6 to 8pm at the Pierce College Art Gallery, Room 3301. This event is free and open to the public.
Los Angeles is where grass meets concrete and pedestrians walk in the shadow of traffic. The landscape reflects our car culture, and structures and scenes are unique to a city designed for freeways. Urban Sight examines the relationship between people and cars through Los Angeles architecture. Students from the Department of Art and Architecture and Media Arts Department participated in a joint program between the Getty Center and three other community colleges. This exhibition will feature photographs by Pierce College students who were a part of that collaborative project. The exhibition is designed and installed by Art 519 Exhibition Design students. This show is made possible through the generous support of the Pierce College ASO and the Foundation for Pierce College.
