Cindy Dole has been in broadcast journalism for 30 years and said being a storyteller able to “speak with confidence,” think on your feet and connect with people meaningfully can allow an exciting career in journalism.

On Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Pierce College Great Hall, she will share her knowledge and experiences with students, staff, faculty and the community.

Her knowledge in all things media has led this award winning journalist to help teams in public relations, marketing and advertising as well as businesses wanting to form multimedia content to connect with their audience.

Dole has worked as a news anchor on KFWB, formerly CBS Radio Los Angeles and KNX, after anchoring and reporting for network affiliated TV stations in Arizona, Missouri and Michigan.

Her nationally syndicated talk show titled “Home Wizards” with co-host Eric Stromer on KFWB was a home and lifestyle show heard in a third of the country on the radio.

She won awards from the Associated Press and the Golden Mic Awards for excellence in covering news as a reporter, anchor and writer and based on her investigative capabilities.

Dole spent one week undercover as a homeless woman and won the Associated Press Best Investigative Reporting Series in a State of Missouri statewide competition. She was working at KRCG television station in Jefferson City/Columbia, Missouri, a CBS affiliate.

She said she has interviewed more than 40,000 people throughout her career, such as Ronald Reagan, Walter Annenberg, Howard Cosell and Frank Sinatra.

Dole is consulting for a variety of clients with their multimedia content development and strategy for their brand that best connects with their audience. Her most recent clients include GE Appliances, Bayer Advanced, Lexolution- a Los Angeles law firm, an author, and Wealth Engine, a financial services company.

Dole graduated from USC with honors and BA degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Communications. She will be an adjunct professor of strategic multimedia PR at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism in January 2018.
