The Pierce College Media Arts Department and the Film Club will use the film series dubbed “Coping Mechanisms” to examine how cinematic characters use fantasy to cope with their own traumatic or unpleasant realities. Pierce College Media Arts Department students took home medals from the SkillsUSA California State Championships on Sunday. Joshua Manes and Cameron Kern won gold for Audio/Radio Production. Angel Arauz-Diaz and Neiman Lofton won gold for Digital Cinema Production. Shae Hammond won silver for Photography. A film and television producer who has worked on "Big Brother" and "Hell's Kitchen" will speak Thursday, March 2 at Pierce College in Woodland Hills.
