Photography submitted by Pierce College Media Arts students will be displayed in the 35th annual Photo Salon exhibit from Feb. 21 through March 23 in the Art Gallery on campus. Students, faculty and staff are invited to the opening ceremony Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. The photographs chosen for the exhibit are hand-picked by faculty members from the photo department. The creator of the L.A. Times’ Homicide Report, a blog which seeks to document every murder victim in Los Angeles, will be the next person to participate in the Media Arts Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6. Jill Leovy is a veteran Times editor and reporter and started the Homicide Report in 2007 as a way to list all homicide victims reported by the Los Angeles County coroner.
