Veteran Hollywood agent and producer Adam Krentzman will speak at Pierce College this month as part of the Media Arts Department's Speaker Series.
The free event will take place Thursday, Nov. 16 from 7-10 p.m. in the Great Hall. Refreshments will be included.
Krentzman was an agent with the Creative Arts Agency for 18 years. He represented some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, Francis Ford Coppola, Michael Mann and Bill Condon.
He has also worked as producer on several movies. His next film, "The Domestics," is scheduled for release next year.

The Pierce College Media Arts Department and Film Club will tackle the topic of ethics in journalism with its Film Series this semester.
The first event, a screening of "All the President's Men," will take place Monday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. "Nightcrawler" will be shown Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The series will conclude with "Spotlight" on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m.
The series is called "Journalism: Ethics or Profit?" Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring professors and others who have worked in journalism. All screenings will take place in the Great Hall.

Cindy Dole has been in broadcast journalism for 30 years and said being a storyteller able to “speak with confidence,” think on your feet and connect with people meaningfully can allow an exciting career in journalism.
On Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Pierce College Great Hall, she will share her knowledge and experiences with students, staff, faculty and the community.
Her knowledge in all things media has led this award winning journalist to help teams in public relations, marketing and advertising as well as businesses wanting to form multimedia content to connect with their audience.

Pierce College is one of the many schools that attended Southern California’s Regional Journalism Association of Communication Colleges event in order to stack up awards, taking home 18 this year.
Twenty community colleges were registered to attend with at least 232 students signed up. More than 200 students gathered in the Titan Student Union Pavilion at Cal State Fullerton to undergo a day long event including workshops and on-the-spot contests in hopes of winning awards at the end of the night.

The 2017-18 Media Arts Department Speaker Series will kick off Thursday, Sept. 14 with Pam Golum, president of the Lippin Group, talking about public relations.
Her firm is one of the top independent entertainment public relations and marketing firms in the world. She has managed projects for The Disney Channel and successful television series, such as the "Law & Order" franchise. Other clients include the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Emmy Awards.
The event will take place 7 p.m. at the Great Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be available.

The Media Arts Department's latest magazine was released this week. It features profiles of alumni, students and instructors. It also provides information about the Television, Film and Electronic Media transfer degree.

Photographers are being asked to donate framed prints for a silent photo auction to support Pierce College Media Arts Department alumnus and professional photojournalist Ken Papaleo. The auction will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Denver Press Club in Colorado.
According to friends, Papaleo is battling myelodysplastic syndrome, a terminal bone marrow disease. He will undergo chemotherapy.
Papaleo previously worked as a photojournalist for the Los Angeles Herald and Rocky Mountain News.

Students' photographs are on display in the main library at Pierce College this month.
The Media Arts Department is hosting the 40th annual Photo Salon. Students, faculty and community members are welcome to view the photographs near the back of the library.
The event began Monday night and runs through May 26.

Have you ever wondered how your favorite YouTubers make a career out of creating online videos?
The Pierce College Media Arts Department is hosting a panel of YouTube experts, including "Madi2theMax" creator and star Madison Brunoehler, at the Great Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10.
Brunoehler has played more than 50 characters in over 240 videos on her YouTube channel. She is an actress, standup comedian, voice-over artist, cosplayer and video editor. She is co-host of Agents of MARVEL on TheStreamTV.
