The brand-new Pierce College Cinema Club recently launched its own Facebook page.
The page, “Pierce College Cinema Club,” was created by club member Benjamin Pellin. The page will be used to advertise upcoming meetings, events and movies that will be shown.
The club meets every other Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Great Hall. Any Pierce College student who is interested in movies, whether it be watching or making films, is invited to join.
The Cinema Club, which launched in September, will watch films, attend movies in original Hollywood movie palaces, network with the established Hollywood entertainment industry, attend and participate in festivals, have guest speakers to discuss careers in the entertainment industry and produce films.
Jennifer Penton, an assistant professor of cinema and multimedia at Pierce College, is the club’s faculty adviser.Kris Caballero, a film/video production major, is the club’s student president.
