Getty College Night featured several Pierce Media Arts photographers

Adjunct photography professor Gerard Burkhart and Dean Mary Anne Gavarra-Oh look at student photography from Pierce College students on display at College Night on April 27, 2015. The Pierce students displayed work along with students from East LA, College of the Canyons and Santa Monica College. The work was inspired by the current Getty exhibit, “Light, Paper, Process.”
Several photography students from Pierce College got to display their work in the same museum where photos, paintings and sculptors by history’s most renowned masters are hanging.
As part of The Getty’s College Night, students sahowed their creations, whichi were inspired by the museum’s exhibition “Light, Paper, Process: Reinventing Photography.”
The students involved were Calvin Alagot, Carolyn Arredondo, Kristen Aslanian , Diego Barajas, Courtney Coles, Mohammad Djauhari, Nico Heredia, Lynn Levitt, Monica Salazar and Erin Stone.
The Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College will exhibit the students’ pieces beginning June 13.
