Los Angeles Times sports columnist Bill Plaschke will be a guest speaker at Pierce College at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 in the Great Hall.

Plaschke was named National Sports Columnist of the Year by the Associated Press and National Headliners during his 21st year with the L.A. Times.

He has been a Pulitzer Prize entrant and his work has been featured in several editions of the annual “Best American Sports Writing” book. Plaschke is also a regular on the ESPN daily talk show, “Around The Horn.”

The free event is part of the Media Arts Department’s Speaker Series, a semester-long effort funded by the ASO.

Refreshments will be served. Parking is available for $2 in Lot 1, near the Sheriff’s Station off Brahma Drive and Winnetka Avenue.
