Matthew A. Glasser BIO

Matthew is an Investigative Producer at NBC Southern California (KNBC-TV). He recently won a

Golden Mike, was a Finalist for a Scripps Howard Media Award, and was honored with an NBC

Universal GEM award for his year and a half long investigation, “LA’s Nuclear Secret,” about the

release of dangerous radioactive and chemical contamination in neighborhoods in Los Angeles and

Ventura counties.

Prior to his role as Investigative Producer, Matthew was the station’s Medical and Health Producer. In

that role, Matthew was the recipient of the MORE award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic

Surgeons and was an Association of Healthcare Journalists Fellow.

Matthew was the Health and Medical Producer and Consumer Producer at KFMB-TV in San Diego

where he won two Emmy awards for his work.

Matthew is the co-creator and Executive Producer of Healthcare Heroes and NurseTV, two nationallysyndicated,

weekly television shows. Healthcare Heroes was the 2010 Jane Pauley Media Award

winner.

Matthew has two decades of journalism, production and communications experience and he has

worked for NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox affiliates throughout California.

Matthew ran an award-winning television and video production company and held marketing and

communications positions at the nation’s largest non-profit health plan and for several start-up and

nonprofit organizations.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy with honors from Occidental College in Los Angeles

where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University

of Southern California. He volunteers with the nonprofit Outside the Lens, teaching at-risk youth to

use the power of storytelling to improve their lives.
