Pierce College’s own Gerard Burkhart is currently being featured as the Artist in Residence at the Mojave National Preserve with his “Shimmering Sky” exhibit.

Showcasing the skills he mastered working as a LA Times photographer, Burkhart’s exhibit features breathtaking photos of Mojave desert captured in his own style.

Burkhart, a self-described photo educator, also worked for the New York Times, Washington Post, and Philadelphia Inquirer along with various wire services before coming to Pierce College in 2008.

Don’t miss out. Burkhart’s work will be on display at the Desert Light Gallery in the Kelso Visitor Center until Nov. 4 and he’ll be hosting an “artist talk” Saturday Nov. 3.
