Pierce College’s own Gerard Burkhart is currently being featured as the Artist in Residence at the Mojave National Preserve with his “Shimmering Sky” exhibit. Showcasing the skills he mastered working as a LA Times photographer, Burkhart’s exhibit features breathtaking photos of Mojave desert captured in his own style. Pierce journalism students brought home 11 awards in eight different categories Saturday night while both campus publications were honored for excellence at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) annual conference.
