The Associated Collegiate Press honored The Roundup newspaper with the prestigious Pacemaker Award for its publication run during the 2019-2020 school year.

During the 2019 fall semester and the 2020 spring semester, The Roundup published several notable issues, including in October, when reporter Arielle Zolezzi’s investigation of Head Coach Carlos Woods made national news.

The Roundup also covered the college’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak in the early months of 2020.

Zolezzi also won an individual Pacemaker Award, taking fourth place in the Journalist of the Year category.

Pacemaker entries are judged by teams of professionals based upon coverage and content; quality of writing and reporting; leadership; design; photography; and graphics.

Winners were announced during the ACP/CMA Fall National College Media Convention awards ceremony, presented virtually on Oct. 22.
